Suur-Savo Museum is the cultural history museum of the City of Mikkeli, and it preserves and displays the history of Mikkeli and its region. The museum building is the Mikkeli parish granary from 1848, and it has been a museum since 1960.
The museum's permanent exhibition presents the history of Mikkeli. The museum's collections of tin, porcelain and textile objects are on the first floor, including the ancient costume from the Mikkeli region. The second floor contains items that tell the story of the city's history. The ground floor features a temporary theme exhibition that changes annually.
