Mikkeli District offers paddlers a wide choice of routes in superb natural surroundings. Here you can enjoy kayaking or canoeing on the protected waters of many smaller lakes.


Luonteri archipelago loop
 
This route meanders through the stunning Luonteri archipelago, where lucky paddlers may catch a glimse of the rare Saimaa Ringed Seal. Sights along the way include Neitvuori Hill, the largest peak in the region, and magnificent granite cliffs.

Squirrel Route (Oravareitti)
The popular Squirrel Route between Juva and Sulkava is ideal for families. The overall lenght of the route is 57 kilometres. Canoes can be rented from Juva Camping www.oravareitti.net

Paddling day on Lake Härkäjärvi
Discover the beautiful wilderness around Lake Härkäjärvi ona guided paddling excursion. Härkäjärvi is situated in Kangasniemi, approximately 60 kilometres from Mikkeli.
