Food has appeal! This has been recognised especially by the local tourism companies operating in the Mikkeli and Savonlinna region of Finland. Tertti Manor and Anttolanhovi have for long been the trendsetters in food tourism. The marketing consortium Charms of Saimaa has now brought together also smaller businesses offering top-quality local and organic food. Unforgettable culinary moments are offered, for example, by the lunch buffet at Sahanlahti, the Rapio Mill Café and Tynkkylän Lomaniemi, whose Sunday lunch proves that fried vendace and cabbage casserole can also be served as haute cuisine.
