VisitSaimaa region and Mikkeli region
The VisitSaimaa region is situated in Southeastern Finland and constitutes the Region of South Savo (Etelä-Savo). The VisitSaimaa region is dominated by Saimaa, the largest lake district in Europe. The region’s largest urban centre is Mikkeli.
The City of Mikkeli is surrounded by 7 municipalities: Hirvensalmi, Juva, Kangasniemi, Mäntyharju, P
ertunmaa, Puumala and Ristiina. This brochure presents information for visitors to all parts of Mikkeli Region.
Mikkeli Region is home to approximately 80.000 residents. The City of Mikkeli is home to approximately 49.000 residents.
